Easter Drive
Snowy is a pony of many talents, It turns out he can be a driving pony too... I thought this picture deserved a page to itself.
Tye is of course in charge of her own pony, she may like to share but it's Snowy's first time out in harness officially and she wants to make sure he behaves. Not sure that Kenji is entirely happy up there with her.... last time he was in this country she pushed him down the hill during the snow story.. however he's willing to give her a second chance! Rowena is newish, I came across her during the Great House Clearup and thought she'd be perfect for a spring or easter shot. Tabitha was my first travel doll and has a special place in my heart, of all the dolls that Mattel have done I think this girl is the prettiest, both face paint and hair.
As many of you know my other hobbies, well one of 'em, is model horses. Sometime years ago I acquired this lovely little stairback gig, I think it's made by Nordwain Models who alas are no longer in production. I have no idea who I bought if from. Model carts are notoriously difficult to fit a horse to, in model horse circles one has to be accurate on every little detail in the ring. However I found that Snowy was more or less the right size for this one and I decided to try and make this shot that I've had at the back of my mind for a time. I spent a happy couple of days making the harness, it needs attention before it's used again. The silverware ought to be brass and I'll see if I can get away with painting since I didn't have any brass wire of the right thicknesses. My partner and I spent a happy hour decorating it with flowers and nice green pipecleaners once we'd got Snowy attached. I'll be posting more driven pix as and when so that you can see the cart and harness more accurately. Tye needs an angled cushion as her legs don't reach the floor of the cart like they should - 'tis dangerous if you can't brace yourself - The pathway is ..bath salts! (and the conservatory smells amazing lol) and the grass is a carpet. The hedging is more moss with collected real spring blossom to set the whole lot off. Course by the time I'd finished making it all and getting it together the nice springlike weather had gone and we had pouring rain and dark skies, so the lighting had to be contrived. Sigh. Oh and the eggs are real Cadbury's Mini Eggs, they didn't make it past the first shoot....
Anyway hope you like my Easter picky.
