Anyway, An Unexpected Find is based on the worldwide phenomenon of painting rocks and hiding them. Tye of course has to be in on everything new! Lets see where this takes her. If you've wondered in from the Love on the Rocks UK site (there's a U.S version as well for our american friends, although pretty much everyone is welcome on the UK group) a huge great HI and I dare say you've guessed who I am. and I have to admit I'm a bit embarassed about the whole doll thing, but hey.
When Hobbies Collide :) A few days ago we met Fiscal, who is a painted stone greyhound. I thought a little storyline about the current worldwide craze for rock painting would be fun. That is right up until I started trying to paint in such a small scale! Ten years ago it wouldn't have been a problem, but alas with age comes failing eyesight. Aren't we lucky :( Anyway, An Unexpected Find is based on the worldwide phenomenon of painting rocks and hiding them. Tye of course has to be in on everything new! Lets see where this takes her. Here's a closeup of the bunny stone :) Excuse me while I try and find my glasses!

It's Valentines Day, and Tye, our confirmed tomboy, has eyes only for one love of her life. Unfortunately I wouldn't let her go back out to the stable to get a pic of him, so here's an embarassment inducing shot of her doing 'pink hearts' - Wishing all our readers a very happy Valentines day, should you be happily with your partner, or the significant other in your life has four feet and a tail! Well it had to happen..... Need to get a better stock picture of her cuddling Snowy
Well, it's short, it's wierd, it's badly lit and photographed on an iphone, but I don't care, YAY a new story is up! See page 3 photostories, hover cursorover page one and two other pages should appear. Meet Fiscal! Believe it or not Fiscal Yere (his racing name, tho he doesn't race any more, he lays in bed all day instead) is a painted stone. I've been participating in the Kindness Rocks Project and a UK version called Love on the Rocks UK (see them both on Facebook if you are so inclined) basically you paint up a stone, varnish it, and hide it somewhere public so a random person finds it and it brightens their day. It's purely for fun and I think half the world seems to be involved over last summer, and it's looking to continue this year too. Anyway, this particular stone is going to be a present. Being as how money is tight (when it is not?!) I had to come up with a meaningful pressie for Mum's birthday, that wasn't going to cost too much. It must be twenty or so years since I painted a greyhound! The idea came from a pintarest piccy, but Fiscal here (so named for two reasons, Fiscal Yere is a boy in the Perishers cartoon that Mum loves, he's basically a rich boy but pretends to be poor, and of course it's a pun on Fiscal Year, or Financial Year) is basically a natural wonder of the world LOL. Apart from where I've painted the black lines to denote his form, and added a tiny bit of brindling to his quarters, neck and head, everything else is the natural stone colour! He really was a happy accident. Here's the back of the stone, unvarnished, so you can see what it looked like So Tye gets to spend an evening snuggling with a greyhound, tho soft and warm he most certainly isn't! Course the perspective is a bit off, but we don't mind! Happy belated New Year to all our lovely readers. |
